USA Study Tour

LGMA is offering our members the opportunity to participate in the upcoming tour to attend the ICMA Conference in Pittsburgh. This tour will also include council visits and project showcases. These details are still being finalised but you will have three days of council visits that includes a showcase of different projects and networking. 

What is included in the tour?

  • Curated council visits where you will learn about projects they are working on
  • Accommodation whilst on the tour and during the conference 
  • Registration for the ICMA Conference 
  • Transport between councils
  • Lunch and dinner whilst on the tour
  • Lunch and any included dinners as part of the ICMA Conference

Draft Itinerary

Day and Date Activity
Tuesday 17 September Arrive Washington DC, delegates meet for dinner, which is included.
Wednesday 18 September Council visit to the Washington DC area and explore the area in the afternoon, includes transport, lunch, and dinner.
Thursday 19 September Council visit, potentially to Baltimore area and travel to Pittsburgh, includes lunch, dinner and transport to council visit and to arrive in Pittsburgh.
Friday 20 September
Two Council visits in the Pittsburgh area, includes transport, lunch and dinner.
Saturday 21 September
Explore Pittsburgh and the pre-conference activity, includes pre-conference activity.
Sunday 22 September Official ICMA Conference opening, includes the opening keynote and traditionally a welcome reception.
Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 September Full Conference program, with many options to choose from during these two days. Both days will be filled with learning and network opportunities.  Details of the inclusions will be made available closer to the conference.
Wednesday 25 September  Final conference half day, concluding at lunch.

*Delegates to make their way home from Pittsburg at their leisure. 

Key Information 

  • Participants of the programme must be a member of LGMA. If you are not a member, please contact LGMA.
  • Participants are required to book and pay for their own airfare to align with the commencement date and location. Airport transfers are not included and are the responsibility of the participant. 
  • Participants should arrange their own travel insurance.
  • Registration to be part of the tour is $9,500 (inc. GST)
